Our goal is to train the next generation of informatics researchers in collaboration with our international partners. As research is best learnt through active participation in projects, our program includes not only didactic experiences through courses and workshops, but also collaboration in research projects of mutual interest. Originally involving collaborators in the USA and Brazil, this program, funded by the Fogarty International Center of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), has now extended to Mozambique. It aims at training informatics professionals in their home countries, while affording them an opportunity to participate in international conferences and short internships abroad. The BRIGHT program is administrated at the Division of Biomedical Informatics, UCSD. (watch us on YouTube) |
