What we are doing now
We have developed informatics courses involving faculty from Brazil, Mozambique, and the USA. Our Brazilian colleagues from Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), led by Dr. Marin, are organizing and participating in a series of education programs, including the distance-learning program organized by the Universidade Aberta. We are also interested in sponsoring Mozambican students who want to pursue a certificate in health informatics at UNIFESP.
We are working together with the MEPI team to implement an electronic library at Universidade Eduardo Mondlane (UEM), as well as provide informatics support for the implementation of the new medical school curriculum.

Specialization courses from the Universidade Aberta
The Universidade Aberta do Brasil is a government initiative to deliver education everywhere in the country. The Health Informatics distance learning certificate course was given in 2009 (150 students in 3 different Brazilian sites) and 2010 (142 students in 10 different Brazilian sites). In 2013 we are planning to deliver the course in 7 sites in 5 Brazilian states, including students from Mozambique.
